Went back to the field this morning and stayed only 1 1/2 hours, it was to hot and muggy. Dare I say that I became one with my underwear.

No CT coppers today but I managed my 2nd Liberty Cap. I am pretty sure that its a 1795 (my oldest US Copper). My other one is a 1796. Same field.

The second coin I am sure is a right facing KG. Weather it's a I, II, III I don't know as I can't see any markings and of course the date is gone.......

Thanks for reading and input on these coins would be appreciated. HH everyone - stay hydrated

Congrats on another Liberty Cap! Indeed it surely looks like a 1795, with the 5 the most readable number. Two hours, two coppers, and too hot! Well worth it though. Congrats.

Nice. Two more. I don't think its a III. It's most likely a II being just before the CTs and the Liberty Cap. Sure the KG III is even closer than the II, but the II has the left facing bust. There's the give away..

Awesome! Those Liberty Caps are few and far between. Al is there still a cellar hole closely associated with that field? If not, there must have been one that was plowed under at some point. That seems to be a lot of coppers for farmers to be dropping as they went about their business in the field.....even if they were drunk.

No cellar hole has been spotted but pieces of brick and pottery have been seen. It's not a large parcel of land and the coppers have come from every corner of the property.

I bet the farm was much larger back in the late 1700's and there was a lot of hired help , probably paid everyday in coin . This would explain all the coin drops Al . I have yet to find a liberty cap and I think you have at least two now :ticked:. The other coin almost looks like it may be a King William III but i can't confirm it from the picture. Another very very good day "out in the fields" .
