I dug these at an 1800s farm house today.
Obviously, the first item is some kind of scissors, but I've never seen any like these before. Any idea what they are?
I also dug a flat button. I have no idea if it's old. I know some of you guys are button experts. What do you think?

Lee is right , these were use to cut the wicks of the candles and to lanterns to ideal size so they don't smoke but burn clean , and to also snuff the candles out when necessary .
Great Id Lee
i have a perfect pair i inherited when i bought my house, i was the same when i picked them up 'WHAT ARE THESE THINGS'.
