hi everyone, its great so see your pics of all the finds you get, what are the best or oldest finds out there? I see you seem to find lots of rings, are they mainly lost modern stuff or are some of them relics. I know that you are limited to the age of your finds but what would be a great find for you, would it be civil war or native etc. over here we can find a range of things from bronze age, roman, medieval to new stuff. ilook foreward to chatting with you. regards dave:)

Hello Dave and welcome to the forum! Ages of finds varies greatly, typically the farther East the older the finds can be. But there are those occasional finds from the Native Americans that can date back thousands of years.
So what equipment do you use, and do you have many good finds to note?

Cheers Dave , Welcome to our humble slice of detecting internet heaven :waving: Detecting here has evolved into many facets , there are some who just relic hunt (both colonial or Civil War ) or beach hunt for jewelry while many coin shoot at parks and schools. We typically don't find coins and relics older than a few hundred years but there are exceptions at times . I hope you share with us some of your best finds with us , we like pictures very much . Thanks for joining and introducing yourself Dave .

thanks guys, im new to detecting im using a deus which I find is a great detector. ive not found much yet only a few coins. first time out I found Edward 11 coin about year 1300 and second time I found a king john about 1170. my brother has found loads of coins and a bronze age axe head 3500 years old. these coins are not worth much money but the thought of picking one up for the first time in almost 1000 years is what I do it for. if any of you guys would like me to send you any coins I hope to find just pm me with your address and ill gladly send them to you cheers dave p.s ill send for free ,I don't want any payment. cheers dave

Now that is a great offer Dave. Thanks for joining our forum and really looking forward to seeing your finds. Sounds like your brother has been doing this longer than yourself.

That is a great offer Dave, maybe a swap for a couple older American coins would be to your liking? Of course, "older" in my area is only maybe 100 years, no match to your finds! :hystericallaugh:

yes he has been detecting for a few years, he has found some great stuff including a coin from Cleopatras reign. we would love to know how this came to be in a field in the middle of nowhere in eastern england but we will never know. he thinks it was maybe from a trader that came to England with the romans. hopefully I will be going out this weekend and if I find anything ill post some pictures. regards dave
