Well had my son show me how to download the pics [good luck on remembering how] So hopefully I can add more to my album of some of the other cool stuff I've found so here's the 1786 Reale I got on my farm in SE WI. and a 1927 s standing liberty quarter. My question is would you guys leave them how they are. Found a neat berry brothers varnish token yesterday, love those and a WI Ag magazine watch fob.580385803958040580415804258043

Those are some amazing finds! A Real is Wisconsin is a fortunate find indeed! I would leave them as they are.

For the reale, here is what I would do. In a glass bowl put a piece of tin foil and sprinkle baking soda on top. Place coin on top of baking soda and sprinkle more on top of it. Heat some water in the microwave and pour it into the bowl. A chemical reaction will occur and the black stuff will come right off the coin! It might take 2 or 3 times but it is okay to leave a little black on the coin. Post pictures when you're done! GL and HH, Dave.
very nice 2 real and SLQ Mike , thanks for sharing pictures with us !

That Reale is an incredible find, especially in Wisconsin! The fob and token are also incredible finds, congrats!

Grats on all the finds. Idk. some suggest that cleaning harms the value. Antique silver patina does have some bit of aesthetics to it. If it were me, I'd still do what Dave (DD) said. Reales aren't worth a whole lot to begin with. They are worth more than melt, but many do exist so they aren't rare pieces. Plus the tarnish hides details.
