This AM I went back to the spot I've been hitting this week and got two more 1st decade wheats.
I remember the forum "scabbard" wars from a few years ago  Anyone think this could be a scabbard, or just tack related? Thanks!
Its definitely not a "sword scabbard" but it very well may be a sword or dagger hanger , a type of hook that attaches to a waist belt that holds a sword or dagger scabbard .

Yeah, that's the part I imagined. I guess "scabbard" is the actual thing the sword goes in...like a metal sheath.
But you don't think this thing is a gag loop, right?
Thank you Dan!!! :notworthy:

There be nothing I can see in any diagram with something like this. All have either a link-loop or a buckle. It def looks a lot more like a dagger hanger piece. There would be a leather loop through the square loop end that'd hang off the belt itself, while the sword/dagger hung off the tine end.
