SWEET! The main issue I had with the Equinox was the depth indicator being not accurate. And now it is apparently tweaked to be more accurate.

I know...right? The depth indicator wasn't even close. Must have been a mistake that they knew could be corrected once they rushed the product out to market. I thought the machine was pretty good with silver as it was...but now better? Sweet!

Hmmm? IDK know Drew? I copy and pasted it.
But yeah. :dontknow: That link doesn't work
It worked when I opened it before posting it here. Oh well at least you found it.

Everyone!! Use the link Drew posted.

I'm not sure a update is going to solve the instability and faulsing problems. But I will update it anyways if for nothing else, to fix the depth meter issue. They should see about updating it so it has a overload, and so something that is deep, sounds deep when pinpointing.

Well I did the update before lunch and then went to a nearby park. I did not find much but the depth meter for pretty good for the 4 coins I found. I usually avoid digging anything that is 3 bars or less but a dug 2 nickels that were 3 bars and each one was about 5 inches deep.

I also dug a worn out wheatie from the teens that was about 6 inches deep. But I noticed that it rang pretty high...27-28 which is silver dime numbers. I thought I read that the update also makes the higher conductors (copper and silver coins) ring up a notch higher than normal so maybe this is what I saw?

Anyways I'm happy for sure about the depth meter being updated. And I can get used to the "new" number scale if that is indeed what is happening.

I'm glad you mentioned this. For some reason I find that, once in a while, wheats, memorials, and dimes ring up higher than they should...and before the update. Nobody else seems to have seen this. Sometimes I swear I have a large copper or silver but I only find a small copper coin. btw, I just read your wheat 2018 total of 178...wow!!

Tim- did you update and hunt yet??

I have noticed with my Etrac and now with the EQX that once or twice during a hunt I come across a "happy" penny...a penny or dime that rings up in the silver range. But now with the update it seems that there is a very slight shift up of the copper and silver targets ... we all should be able to get used to it after a few hunts.

my best wheatie year was 677 in 2015. My 7 year total is at 3354. But I hunt old parks and many detrctorists skip the wheats.

Not yet Drew. I think I might do the update tonight and try to get out some this weekend.

I have noticed that some of the copper pennies would ring up high. I just chalked it up to me not "knowing the scale" well enough.

IMHO Minelab nailed this update. The Equinox seemed to run much smoother. I even think the separation is better and the depth meter is definitely close to being on point. BTY, I was running Park 2, sensitivity at 23, reactivity at 5, iron bias at 2 and 5 tones. I have about 8 hours hunting with the update on a site that I had written off. I hadn’t been back to this site since my Etrac days. There are a lot of nails in ground that is like butter so I figured it would be a good test for deep coexisting targets. I was amazed at the results I got with the Equinox and I can not believe I missed this many targets. 7 Mercs, 2 War Nickels, 2 Buffaloes, 2 V Nickels and 15 wheats. I would say about 70% had a nail or a piece of iron in the hole with it and they were all 7-10” deep. You can see by the lack of clad that I had previously cleaned out all the shallow targets.
