I was just curious about this since I have been finding a lot more nickels lately. There aren't really any dug Jefferson Nickels that are worth a whole lot to collectors, but which ones go in your keeper pile?

I am thrilled to find the early Jeffersons because surely there's some silver here too :) but figure the discoloration makes them unworthy, even 100 yrs from now. The war nickels are the only ones I save...

I didn't know the 50-D was semi-key. I only keep war nickels.

Being new to detecting, I keep the oldest (3-1965). <: Until I get something older to replace it. If I could find silver, I wouldn`t even bend over for a nickel. rofl

I have been saving any nickle before 1959 for years now. Either I dig them or get them in my change. I currently have over $26 face of them
