this is for anyone who understands cameras i have a vivicam 112 hd it has 9.1 mega pixels 4x digatal zoom 1.8 prview screen we tried to put photos on the computer but we could get the detail to show the dates and other features of coins i know it can be a lot better than we were able to do is it the camera is just not the right kind and if not what can you recomend for inexpensive cameras thank you dennis
Don't know a whole lot about cameras either. I have a Cannon Sure Shot. I download the pictures from the Cannon, or my Cell Phone to the computer. I think you will need the software that comes with the camera to be able to download them to the comp. Then as in my case, you may need to resize them before you can post them. Another way is to use your printer/scanner that hooks to your computer. I will include a picture of a Silver Eagle I scanned. First time I did this, and it worked really well. Of course you can't take your printer into the field. But it works great for after cleaning shots.

I don't know about the camera you mentioned, but I would make sure it has macro. My pics aren't great, and I don't know all that much about cameras, but IMHO, macro mode makes it easier to take close up pics. Good luck.

Yes, macro mode is important for taking close-ups. Almost all cameras have this mode these days. Check your camera's instruction manual for how to turn on macro.

I am not really that savvy when it comes to cameras so I could just give you my two cents worth about it.
I have a Canon D40 which a friend sold me for a very cheap price only. I was actually looking to get a compact camera for about the same price when I was offered this. Even though there are quite a bit options in terms of the proper setup to do with it, I never really tinkered with it which kind of defeats its purpose.
I guess you just have to use one which lets you shoot pictures.
