2010 review of your best relic finds

hey everyone since this year is comming to a close , i thought it would be cool to set up a post to see what you all thought were your best or most memorable finds while relic detecting this past year. please feel free to share any information or thoughts about the item or items you post.

my most ornate and complete colonial shoe buckle

my best colonial copper (condition wise a 1745 King George II )

my best large cent (condition wise 1846 large cent )

my best military button this year (N.Y. Militia 1805-35 )

and my best token ( 1837 comerce token )

and i'll add some other better ones from this year

1786 babyhead variety vermont copper (very scarce variety)

a very nice late 18th or early 19th century wax seal fob or matrix

1787 Connecticut copper ( a scarce miller 14-H Arrows (Pheons) variety)

my 5th and best 1787 Fugio cent
my 1st capped bust silver
my 1st liberty capped large cent
colonial hand etched silver religous medal possibly indian trade silver
a general Lafayette commemorative button from 1824
my nicest King George II 1749

I dedicate my last 3 ( 0r is it only 2?) years cellar hole finds to YOU! for showing me this aspect of metal detecting.you and George are always there when i have questions and never hesitate to share your opinion and expertise in the history and identification of any find i have made.

You guys out east sure do make some nice old finds, I would love to find one of them old GW buttons, they're awesome, I gathered up some of my relics, the war of 1812 era button is my oldest military button yet, I found it with my V3i on the side of a hill in a park this summer, it was about 8 inches down in a bunch of fine tree roots. The gold filled watch I found in another park in January about a foot deep with my MXT using the D2 coil. Also as you can tell by the pic I really like finding the old canine tags, my oldest ever is an 1896 that I found in Battle Creek Mi a few years back.

very sweet find and the watch is in super condition :shocked04: thumbsup01 i also like finding the very old dog tags . very nice relics :peace: thanks for showing them .

Thank you grasshopper lol We enjoy our hunts with you too. :clapping: You have come a long way in a very short time. You picked up cellar hunting very fast. I have no doubt that you will have another excellent year coming up. Now it's time to reflect and gloat on our finds lol

these i think are my best relic finds here in cascade iowa , GAR button found just up and acroos the street from my house in an old yard , the calvery button in a yard across town where 2 brothers lived that fought in the civil war and the inf. button and name tag from another old house in town built in 1856.

Dave those are very sweet buttons indeed :peace: but the i.d. tag :shocked04: :shocked04: :shocked04:stretcher: is one great personal piece of history truely a center piece in anyones collection sir.congrats on such a nice piece . :clapping: :clapping:
