    Rare Oldie from the sand

The coin itself is not that rare, just that it came from this particular beach. It is detected regularly and by many different detectorists. It was a dry sand find with the MXT and I thought it was going to be yet another bottle cap! I gave it a 24 hour bath in vinegar and you can see...

    A little GOLD

Got my first GOLD of the year this evening. :happydance01: The nice weather brought a few tourist down to the beach. Managed a few bucks in clad and this Dolphin pendant marked 10K and with a light blue stone. It was a chattery broken signal on the MXT and came up with some pennies and dimes, so...

    Dig that foil signal!

Though I have been checking in here and enjoying reading about and seeing some awesome coin and relic digs by you all, I haven't been hitting much other than clad on the beach. Decided to try some turf and tot lots today. thumbsup01 Got a 4 - 6 VDI on the MXT, but it just sounded more solid than...

    I Like Ike!

When I saw this large coin in my scoop my heart skipped a few beats and I was thinking &quot:beerbuddy:ig Silver! Alas, it is a '71 Eisenhower Dollar, but still a fun find. It was in the sand awhile, but not too long because it is discolored but not crusted like the older coins can...

Never know what will turn up.....

…that’s what makes this hobby so much fun!! 8) Hit the beach for the afternoon low tide with the PI looking for gold or silver, but they eluded me this time. :( I did get these two coins I found interesting. We get lots of tourists in Santa Cruz, so I guess a couple of them dropped these...

Missed the Gold, but got Silver!

No Gold, but got 3 Silver today! 8) Two .925 Silver Rings and .925 Saint Christopher Medal. This is the same spot I got my first ring of the year, also a .925 Silver with a Aquamarine stone. This little park is only about a ½ acre of turf area. No old coins due to when it was developed I think...

Not real pretty, but it's all mine!! 8) Found this 1899 Barber Half in that sand pile that I posted about awhile back that came out from under our 100 year old plus boardwalk amusement park. Swinging Santa

Haven’t been able to get out and swing the ‘ol coil in awhile due to family obligations and travel to visit relatives over Thanksgiving. After we got home it was time to start decorating the house for Christmas. Helped the wife with the inside stuff and then started on my outside lights and...

    Great day detecting!

I think today may have been one of my best detecting days ever and it wasn’t about the finds! I was at an elementary school picking up a few pieces of clad when my cell rings and it is my wife. The “friend of a friend” needed help. Seems her little girl lost a ring while playing soccer at...
