    1781 half real

After work and a dentist appointment I had 90 min before dark so I went back to my park  The half real is in spectacular shape and was DEEP :shocked02: I've found many, many musket balls at this park over the years...I think they must have mustered there in the Revolution.

Happy Weekend! :happydance02: The last month I've been hunting for a foundation that runs a 300 year old farm. I've been finding lots of cool stuff but have to give up the goods. Yesterday morning and this morning I finally got some Drew time in! This was a public freakin park!!! I know...

    Park This Morning

Started out at dawn...felt great, nice breeze 71, manageable humidity...then for some reason fog rolled in and it turned oppressively humid. I'm not certain why I'm giving a weather report :dontknow: The copper was at 10in!! I saw a cottontail 5min before I found that cufflink! That's today's...

    Baby Face Nelson?

Hi everyone, This morning started very pleasantly...sunny, normal humidity...then all heck broke lose a few hours later. 150% humidity moved in, then buckets of rain as I got back to my car. A few towns north of me had a tornado! :shocked04: I started at a park that I've been hitting and...

    Park Hunting

The woods are overgrown with unreal amounts of ferns and most of the fields are growing for the second cut, so off to the parks! Tues morning I hit a field that produced the ball button and buttons....then we got a soaking rain that night. Yesterday was like a dream in the park. :daydream: I...

    Short AM Hunts

Hey everyone, Every morning this week I got up with the sunlight and headed out. Mostly a park but also an old field. I've learned 5-tones pretty well on the Equinox and now moving to 50 tones. I'm told it has more modulation which I miss from my T2 in 2-tones. I think the ring is silver...

    Capped Bust Half Dime!

Bucket-lister!!! Started slow this morning as I went over areas I've already been...just to double check. Got a small flat button. Then the adjacent field started producing! First another beat copper, then the early shoe buckle, then ten feet away from the buckle I thought I had the missing...

    1841 seated half!!

Hey everyone, I've only found one seated half and it was a BEAT counterfeit. This one is really nice! The pictures don't do it justice. The owner wants to bring it to his historical society meeting tomorrow then give it to me. I'll take a cleaned up pic when I get it back. I...

    3 Coppers After Work

The weather was perfect today so I headed out for a short afternoon hunt. Who am I kidding, I don't care what the weather is...I'd be hunting anyway  I dug six targets...five were coins. Three were coppers, a clad quarter, a memorial, and a 1960s pocket knife rounded out the day. The...

    Been Getting Out

I've been busy the last few weeks but have been able to squeeze a number of short hunts in. I'd guess the sterling locket is from the 20s or 30s. Couldn't locate the nurse. Don't know the particulars on the CT copper. Thanks for looking! PS OH WAIT, I wanted to say that I found that copper...

    Foursome Hits the Links!

Once again, I joined Al, Mike, and Steve for some digging on a hundred year old golf course. The police stopped to question us, as did the previous owner, but the course is now in Al's family and he has free "range." Al and I work on "detectorist" time...8am means 7:45...so we started early...

I may have asked this before!

I find these these with great regularity. There must have been wood under them. Any ideas?
