    Murderer's Knife, Bucket Lister

Hey everyone! Sorry to have been absent the past few months. We took some vacations around the country. Between our trips I did get to do some detecting but there was never enough time to post before heading out again. The bucket lister is an 1810-20 Haitian military button. They are rare in...

    Raining Again!

The rain has been depressing but the soil is POPPING! This site has produced some cool stuff but nothing old has come from the half acre surrounding the house. The ground has been moved and top soil brought in. Today I worked this area. Everything was DEEP! The 1931 McCormick International...

    ID Help, LC, Whizzer??

Been hitting my two sites this week. Two questions- I found two gag loop looking things with hooks on the ends. Anyone know if they are indeed gag loops? Also, when a coin has two holes I call them whizzer toys but what about dandy buttons? Were they also whizzers or shank-less buttons? Love...

    300 Year Old Coin!

Hey! I've been working an AM site and a PM site...both are new to me and have lots of property. My AM site gave up the dateless LC and many un-pictured relics like dandies, D buckles, rosettes, etc The PM site gave up the 1722 Hibernia, 1838 LC and my second 1800s NYC police button. My first I...

    Learned Something

Happy Mother's Day! I saw a YouTube vid talking about a common mistake people make when switching to a small coil. We speed up the reaction (recovery) time setting because we're trying to get separation in iron. I always did that...I'd put a 5in coil on and keep the detector on it's speediest...

    Delicate Buckle

Hey everyone, This afternoon I found this non-weight bearing buckle and never seen one like it. Anyone have an idea as to it's job? I also found another escutcheon plate. I've found four of them over the years and until today thought they were saddle badges...but one of my young students...

    Balanced Nox

Hey everyone! I've tried a number of solutions to balance the Equinox and have settled on a 1lb diver's weight. Using the strap, it feels as good as my T2 now. What are you all doing?:thinkingabout:

    OKM $32,000 Detectors

Anyone know anything about OKM detectors? Years ago they tried to sell detectors that they claimed could show you a picture of what was under the ground...and it cost like $10,000. It didn't work. Now they're trying to sell $32,000 machines. I can't find any sources as to what the machine...

    Question About Copper Coins

The other day I found a 1694-1702 William the 3rd copper coin. I also found a Draped Bust early American copper coin. Last week I found a Matron head. They all are supposedly made of pure copper...? Why do all the older late 1600s/early 1700 coins ring up much lower? They vdi a bit higher...

Hey everyone, I'm not a fan of global warming but I'm happy to be digging in New England on Jan 18th. We've already had a nor’eastah and other winter events, but the snow melted days after it fell. :loveit: It rained LIKE CRAZY the other night and my fields we're transformed into...

Hey everyone, After work today I hit my most difficult site. It's a corn field where there are plenty of post civil war coins waiting for me...I find them every so often but it's tough sledding as the soil is NOT my friend. Every swing produces falsing. I've tried sens down, different Nox...
