I have only been out a few times this year, but stopped at a major street tear out in Milwaukee today and scored a nice good for milk token, a 1902 V nickel, a 1943 Merc and 9 wheaties. I found the shield nickel there last weekend.

Last Field Hunting for the Year

I spent a couple of hours on each of two visits to this field back in October. I had been eyeing up this one for awhile and was finally able to make it there a couple of times. I knew there were about 4-5 houses adjacent to the edge of this field circa 1870-1930’s, but had no idea how much...

    New Job, Sort Of

Hello All, After 21 years, I have started a new role in my company. In the past I have been a sales manager leading a sales team and the operational responsibilities with that, and also doing some outside sales. Now, I will be outside sales full time. The reason I mention it here is I will...

    Just Bottles & Stuff Tonight

It's so dry MDing territory is hard to come by right now. My curiosity got the better of me when I drove by a construction site tonight. I made a u-turn, stopped and looked around and found these. The bottle on the right says Skilton Foote & Co, Bunker Hill Pickles.

    Relics in the Alley

Occasionally I hit these projects when they are in old portions of the city. You have to time it perfectly and usually only get one or two shots at it. They started this yesterday, I hit it last night, and today it's all gravel! I found one nice bar token, a small bottle about 3" tall and...

    Two Big Tokens

I made it out mid-day yesterday in the heat and humidity and scored these two awesome tokens. When the 125th Wis Summerfest 1973 token fell out of the dirt I thought I had a Morgan dollar for sure, but I'm happy with both of these finds! The smaller FOE token is for the Fraternal Order of...

    Old New Orleans Mint

I was in New Orleans last week and stopped by to tour the museum in the old US Mint. Although I find a lot of old coins detecting I am not really a coin collector. Most of what I know about coins I have learned from a friend who is a collector and here on the forum. I am a big history buff...

House Demo - A Real Encased Cent

Some of you may have seen my "encased" cent from last week. Well, this past Saturday I found a real one. It is an aluminum horseshoe good luck piece from the Monon Railroad. It's pretty toasted but I thought a cool find nonetheless. It sure gave a weird signal! All the rest of the finds...
