Back to the field from last week

Yesterday I went out again to the same plowed field as last week for a couple hours. Found plenty more iron and other bits, still no coins yet. I'm hoping for an oldie or two if I do find a coin here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Beautiful Autumn Day....but no coins

I was out for about three hours today to a recently plowed wheat field. I've found many cool things in these fields over the years but not too much today, but it sure was nice out! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Double Shield Nickels & Civil War Token

I was fortunate to find some free time this afternoon, and even more fortunate to find these! They've been buried in gravel for a long time, so they're a little rough, but I'll add them to the collection. 1864 Indian Head Penny 1872 & 1883 Shield Nickels 1863 Plank Road Brewery -...

Three Silver Hunt & Other Finds

It's been awhile since I found more than two silvers on a hunt, nothing real old but I'll take 'em. There are also a variety of other finds from the past week. I also found another Rosie and another IH, not pictured here.

Another Seated, IH's & More Bottles

I found this dime at the same spot as my recent 1853 half dime. It has some good detail. Also found these IH's and more bottles, but the stoneware was busted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Fatty & Bottles

I was surprised to find this 1862 fatty the other day. I was hoping for the elusive flying eagle when I saw the thick rim, but that one remains to be on my to do list. I also found these bottles this past weekend, my first dug stoneware beer bottle! It is a Phillip Altpeter bottle ca...

    Best hunt in awhile!

I was fortunate to hit a site recently just at the right time. I was thrilled to check one off the bucket list, an 1853 half dime, my first one and my new oldest silver coin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

BIG, (I mean really BIG!) Copper and Other Finds From This Past Week

This past week was an opportunity for me to get out quite a bit to take advantage of the nice fall weather and secure some finds before the cold comes. My craziest find of this week came from a field, one of three that a friend and I hit that day. It was a 1.5lb chunk of float copper! Man...

    A Little Vacation Silver

Today I found myself in Mason, Michigan running some errands and doing some antique shopping. I pull in to town and lo and behold a street/sidewalk project! Yes! Fortunately, I had my gear with me in the rental car. Off I went for about 1 1/2 hours. Got a 1942 Merc, 1951 & 1964 Rosie, an...

    Dog License Tag from 1876

Hello All, Good finds have been few and far between this year, but I found a real winner last night. This is a construction project that I have been going to for the past two weeks since they started. I found a very rare 1876 shield style Milwaukee Dog License tag. It is about the size of a...

German Button - Can Anyone Get An ID?

I found this button on a street tearout, and most of all the old items found on this site date to the 1890-1900 period. This button clearly has a German Eagle on it, and it also say "Berlin" among some other words on reverse. It measures 15/16" in diameter. What do you think?

    Tony Two-Cent's 2014 Year-in-Review

Hello Tony, Those are some amazing finds!! You had a super year! I really like all the tokens, you guys in IL always seem to find a lot of them. The capped bust is a great find and a nice one to knock off the bucket list! Were all these tokens found at the same site?
