......that are not gold or silver! This past week I made it over to the pond again for a short hunt and found a bucnh more stuff including all of these junk rings. These were the first rings I have found since the gold ring early on in my hunting at this site. Also, this was my first hunt at...
I was at the pond two times today for a total of about 3 1/2 hours. Matmit (from FMDF) texted me and met me there for just a short time before I had to leave, so it was good to meet him there and hopefully he'll post his finds from the pond. I found a lot of stuff today including part of a...
Made it out this morning from 6:00 - 7:30am and hit a sidewalk project. Found some pretty cool stuff and a 1901IH and 1944 Merc. What a great start to the day.......then I had to go to the office.
I spent a short amount of time on Monday at the pond shore and found a couple of wheat cents and a 1936 Mercury dime. This silver coin is a bit of a milestone, since it is my 100th silver coin since starting MDing in Nov 2008.
I made it out today for three hours back to the pond shore. Probably the best hunt at this site so far. Two silver dimes, two indian head pennies and seven wheat cents, plus lots of other targets and clad. I just can't believe the number of targets at this place! I am not even showing the huge...
Hit the sidewalks again today for a short hunt. Four more wheats, trash and this stuff pictured below. This button is huge! Can anyone give me an estimated age on it?
Well, a street project I hit quite a bit in July has moved over to the other half of the street now, which means more dirt to hit for me.
First trip out there was mixed. I made some OK finds but I quickly realized that the dirt on this side of the street is not nearly as old as on the other...
Another hunt at the pond yields three more wheat cents from the 1940's and a nice 1923 Buffalo nickel, plus misc other finds. Yes, more fishing tackle and more trinkets to add to the interesting finds from this site.
Another trip to the local pond. Even with the recent rains the water is still very low and will continue to be for the rest of the year I imagine. As you can see by the three marbles found, the recent rain washed a little sand/dirt away to expose some more eye ball finds. Two rings this time...
This site is equally as rewarding as it is frustrating! The shear number of targets makes for fun hunting, but the high volume of trash makes it crazy with the number of targets there. But I am not complaining at all!
The thing I like most about hunting at this site is the variety of all the...
My uncle made a solo hunt yesterday back at the wheat field we hit a few weeks ago:

He found another 1859 IH and this cool little button!
Found another sidewalk project on Friday in a neighborhood built up in the 1930's. Made it over there for two hours yesterday. Had a great hunt with some clad, 1944 merc, 1928, 1929, 1934, 1935, 193:clapping:, 1952D & 1957D wheat cents.
Went back to the pond shore today, and after many, many coins dug at this site I finally found a silver coin, 1944D Merc. I know there has to be more there, just have to spend the time to get through the ridiculous amount of trash at this site. The first photo of the dime is before some...
Hit a park pond for about 1 ½ hours. There is about 6-8 feet of pond bottom exposed all the way around this 1 acre pond and it’s just a trash pit with plastic, glass, metal and all imaginable sorts of trash scattered everywhere.
I went for the hi tones only and had a great hunt. 60 pennies, 3...
Made it over to the recent project again today for just over an hour and came away with some real nice finds and finally a silver! Some small bottles, 7 wheats, 1911-1953, and a very nice 1944 Merc dime. It felt good to get a shiny one after two dozen wheats from this project!
I keep hitting the sidewalk strip where I found the barber and seated coins two weeks ago, as they move a little dirt here and there. Non Ferrous targets are getting scarce, but I did find a harmonica reed, a lead ring, a little pocket knife and small bullet casing.
