When is a flat tire a good thing?

When you find silver, that's when! lol Unfortunately, I had a flat tire yesterday and had an hour and a half to wait for AAA. While I still had some daylight left I went into some woods next to a creek where I was stranded. It's an open space area in the town I was in. I was only beeping for...

    Back to the stump!

Today I went back to the tree stump where I found two foreign silver coins and a French 10 cent piece. I only had about an hour to hunt so I scoured the immediate area around the stump. There was plenty of junk targets all over but these two coins were loud and clear. I got another Dix Centimes...

Now I've reached 50...and then some.

I had a great hunt today. About an hour into my search for the shiny I hit a solid 90-91 on the T2 in a super trashy area. Out comes a quarter but it is completely covered in dirt, but after a slight wipe, I know I've hit silver! Now I've officially reached 50 for 2012! :happydance01...

    You lose...please try again!!

I took the 1924 SLQ to the jeweler today. He tested it and it showed it was not silver. You folks were right, it is a counterfeit coin. So back to the drawing board and I'm down to 49. I'll be back out on Sunday so wish me luck. 8/ Here's the original thread...

    Big foreign silver!!

I got out today before work and hit a park/open space near my house. I went to a spot I had previously found back in the spring while shooting photos. I made a mental note to check it out someday. I'm glad I did. The spot is ultra trashy with a billion signals in every direction. I was getting...

This one hit a few branches one the way down.....

....from the UGLY tree!!!! :shocked04: lol Man, this former quarter took a beating. I'm not sure how it got this way but I'd say it still counts. I got out yesterday for a while and this was the only keeper. My hunting buddy did way better. He found an 1829 capped bust dime!! This thing rang...

At least this hunt wasn't a total bust!

Did ya ever have one of those hunts where you feel like you've lost your mojo? This was how my hunt was going yesterday. Nothing but junk target after junk target. Very frustrating. I haven't been able to hunt for about two weeks due to school and Hurricane Sandy. We lost power for a few days...

    Like new war nickel

I got out yesterday for my usual afternoon hunt at one of my favorite parks nearby by. First, I found a penny spill. All 80's and 90's memorials except for one. They were all on the surface just under the leaves. I was pleasantly surprised to see a wheatie laying there! A 1925 no less...

Should I count it as a coin or jewelry??

Well, I'm think I'll treat it as a coin to add to my silver count! lol What have others counted similar finds as?? Anyways, I headed out yesterday after a long stretch of no hunting. It's been raining for almost a week straight! I was getting pretty much nothing but junk even though signals...

    Some cool finds

These are a few of the nice finds I got from the past few hunts at a few of my regular go to spots over the past week. The first is a silver pencil pendant found near an old colonial cellar hole. I wasn't sure what I had at first but I could tell it was silver. I found the hallmark later on. I...

Back to my little hot spot...

I got back to the area Friday where I've been having some really nice finds at and this hunt was no exception. It's not a huge area so I feel I've scanned just about all there is to scan except for some really overgrown spots that are hard to reach. First I found a vintage lipstick container...

A great way to break my month long silver drought!!!

I went back to the woods where I scored a large cent and the Indian Head pennies last week and scoured the area some more. I wasn't there 10 minutes when I hit a solid 90 on the T2. It showed the target to be right on the surface and sure enough I look down and see a quarter! I figure a recent...

First Indian penny spill and my first trifecta!

I got out yesterday to a spot I tried last week with one of my hunting buddies and although the silver is still eluding me, I had a great hunt nonetheless! I went off the main trails into the wooded areas and one of my first targets was a 1927 Wheat penny! Good start. Continuing through the...

My first fatty Indian Head penny!

Got out early, and I was going to hunt by myself, but 'ol Dirt Lizard (from Friendly Forum) called wondering if I was heading out. Met up with him at a park in New Haven. While I waited I beeped and came across the Buffalo nickel. Cool! Nice way to start the day. I think it's from 1917. DL...

    Fighting the mosquitoes...

...was worth it yesterday evening. I was able to hunt for about an hour or two. I headed to a wooded park near my house. A used bug spray but those little stinkers still find spots to bite! >:# Anyway, I was able to get a few oldies: a Canadian large cent from 1916 <:, a 1939 Jeff, and an...

    Keepers while in PA

Hey folks! I haven't had much time to go beepin in a while, but finally had a chance for a bit yesterday and today while I'm in Williamsport, Pennsylvania on business. Hit an old park yesterday in the city and found the play dime (my first) as well as the 1902 Indian penny with a great green...

A Merc to break the drought!

It's been a few weeks since I found a silver, so it was sure a good feeling to see this silver staring me in the face as I uncovered it (1942 Mercury dime). I also found some wheat pennies (don't know the dates, I didn't clean them off yet! lol It's been harder for me to get out cause of work...

Best finds from my past few hunts! (Lots of Pics)

Hey all! I've been real busy with work and school so I haven't had as much time as I'd like to go beeping. But, here are my keepers from my last few hunts. No silver, but hey, you can't win 'em all! The bricks I found came in handy for our little garden. The Indian Head penny I found today, near...

This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius!

Hi all! I got out for a couple of hunts and found some goodies. The other day I found the really old looking bullet and the silver bracelet (or what was left of it) lol. Then the rest of the finds were in today's hunt. I got the Aquarius token thingy (and I'm and Aquarius too!) thumbsup01...
