    Pleasant Week of Hunting

Hey guys, This past Saturday I met up with Lodge Scent Jeff and had a blast comparing signals on the EQX and Deus. We didn't find much but had a great time! :thumbsup02: I got out everyday after that for a few hours and found everything but the kitchen sink. I never found a half penny like...

Lower Number of Tones= More Depth?

No work today as we've received 22in of snow. So, by lunch I had a question. Does the number of tone choices affect the depth...does the new EQX get the same depth across the tone number choices within Park 1 and 2 (and all-metal)? The sens was 21 and the recovery was 3. I air tested a KG2...

    Tortoise Shell Button?

I walked out to that hole near the end of my driveway and I continued finding stuff. I found three more buttons on the lip today in addition to the two buttons and KG2 I found yesterday. The site is really old and this button was a foot deep which leads me to believe it's colonial but the...

    Hunt in My Yard

I went out in the yard to take some swings because I saw snowless bare spots. I hit my first cellar hole with the Equinox. Imagine how many times I've been over this area. Is that KG2 a 1750? I was out there for 15-20 min! Video- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vufbeDjXihY Thanks!

    First Copper for the Equinox!

Had an unexpected day off so I went down the road to a place where I cut my detecting teeth. Been over this area many, many times before. Video, https://youtu.be/-mDscGFALjM

    Al, Mike, and Drew FOURRRRR!

Aloldstuff was kind enough to invite me and Mike out to an old golf course that will be made into house lots. The place looks as if it was abandoned last year. The grass is still short and huntable. There was a guy actually playing golf! Al showed us some of his considerable finds at his...

    Getting Better With Equinox

My last three short hunts have been with the Equinox 600. First was not productive at a difficult site. Second was in woods near a cellar hole. I found the normal relics and shotgun shells. I wasn't sure if my trusty T2 would also have found them. Third short hunt was the game changer...

Demoralizing First Hunt with Equinox 600

Hey guys, It took me a good year to understand my T2....so I thought half that time might be adequate to learn this Minelab...because some stuff should transfer. After my first 90 mins I've upped my estimation back to a year...if EVER! :) Mistake no. 1 - I took this beast to my most...

    Minelab Guy Now

I didn't want to commandeer Cooper's thread any more than I already have so I've started another Equinox thread. I opened and assembled mine last night! No hunts as yet and 6in of snow coming tomorrow night :overreaction: Jeff, To answer your question...I do whatever I want (as long as it's...

What Do You HATE To Dig?

It's a complicated question...I REALLY hate digging harmonica parts. They sound really good and are usually deep. You (at least) think you got a nice button. It's complicated though because when I'm at a new site and it's the first thing I dig I'm happy to see them because they date the area...

    Run-ins With The Authorities?

It was -13 the other day and we got over a foot of snow...so detecting is off the docket. Chris Digger_O'Dell told a funny story today about the police interrupting his frozen water hunt. http://www.americandetectorist.com/forum/showthread.php?21517-Water-hunt-cut-short-by-police! So I was...

    Minelab Coils

My T2 has an 11in DD. The coil projects a thing slice, with the deepest part being just in front of where the shaft meets the coil. Can anyone describe what the transmitted signal looks like coming out of the etrac or 3030? I'm assuming it will look similar to the Equinox, which I'm ordering...

    Day Off!!

I had a few unexpected days off so I was able to spend this morning hunting the site I found the flying eagle cent the other day. I haven't nicked a coin in years and today I nailed two!! Luckily I got the SLQ on her shield  The nicked nickel is 1908, the SLQ is 1920, the commemorative...

    Bucket List Coin!

I've been hitting a site that should be producing oodles of coppers but as yet has produced NONE! I think the place is hexed  I'm not allowed in on Sat mornings as the hunters are there, so I headed out to a field that was disced last spring. I found a cute little buckle and my first...

    Small Shield Buckle

I've been tantalizingly close to finding some very good finds at this site... but no cigar as yet. This shield buckle is very light weight...it couldn't hold much load at all. Seems like there is no consensus as to what it is. Saddle design, tack, military, civilian? Thanks!!

My Oldest Dog Tag By a Long Shot

A few hours yesterday and this morning netted TWO old dog tags. A 1951 and a 1900! The second may be a 1908, 1909, or 1906 but I'm going with 1900 :) Two newer aluminum tokens, an 1898 IH, and some colonial pieces rounded out the weekend. HH everyone!

    Minelab Tones

Hello Friends, You might know I'm a T2 user. I really want to buy the new Equinox 800. I'd like to ask a question of you Minelab users (assuming the etrac and Equinox have the same sounds). The T2 has a great tone choice called 2+. It allows you to hear depth, strength, whether iron or not etc...
