A Barber 25 saves the hunt.

My last two hunts were not the best but not the worst. Tuesday I hunted for about 5 hours first at two new sites that turned out to be duds, I then hit a farm field that had produced in the past and came away with one 1918 wheat. I had two hours left so I headed to my favorite grove, changed to the X8 coil and hit a trashy part to see what I could find. One wheat showed up and about $1 in clad, with 10 minutes to hunt I got an iffy signal at 8 inches so I thought it was just good enough to dig and I'm glad I did. It was an 1898 Barber Quarter. There were also two rusty nails in the hole.
Thursday I hunted another new site for 2 hours and it to was not that good. I did manage a few cald coins and a token or coin with no writing just pictures ( see below)
If anyone can help me out with this one let me know. It is about the size of a Nickle and came in like a wheat cent. I spent the last two hours in the woods at the grove and managed a couple more wheats and a1968 dog tag. So I ended up taking the silverless ride of shame Home on Thursday.

Congrats on the barber quarter!!! :perfect10: :perfect10: Especially with nails in the hole.

Can't help you with the token, but it's very cool. :)

Love the Barber quarter Jeff! :clapping: The other items is intriguing. Any idea as to metallic content? The first design looks like it may be of Russian origin, or Islamic perhaps? I'm no architect, so I speak strictly as a novice's novice. lol I hope you can get an ID on it.

I'm not sure, it is colored gray and the ID on the Etrac comes in at 12-42 but it is almost the exact size and thickness of aUS Nickle. Copper maybe bronze I do not know.

I like to think that if you can recover a Barber quarter from the 1800's then you should get a credit on the silverless drive home from another hunt. Nice Barber and Angie was pretty quick with that ID on the token. Congrats on all the keepers

Awesome Barber Quarter! That's a great find, they don't turn up too often. (Especially for me!) Great coin! :loveit:

I recognized the Aladdin's Castle token right away, but Angie beat me to the punch. :teasing:

Nice hunt and congrats on the barber quarter, token and dog tag! Sorry your new sites were duds, glad you still have your productive grove site!

That last ten minutes paid off nicely at the grove. :clapping: She's a beauty! :smitten:

I've been thinking about going a little bigger from my X-5 to the 8. :thinkingabout: I like the 5 but the extra depth of the 8 is enticing.

Noticed the token right away too. I have a few myself. lol One in near mint condition. rofl

Congrats.
