Another cellar hole hunt with Dave produces a Matron Head & lots of buttons

Dave easily got the find of the day with a beautiful silver lay buckle frame so I am glad he redeemed himself from Saturday's hunt so that I didn't have to watch him mope around today :hammer:.

I was able to score a toasty 1825 Matron Head that is heavily pitted :hairpulling:, an old axe head and pocket knife along with 15 buttons. I think we pulled around 30 buttons from this hole today.

Nice digs. Digging buttons will help keep you warm on a chilly day.

It is amazing how some sites will give up tons of buttons.

ARRRGH! I am green with jealousy at you guys who get to hunt these awesome colonial sites! :envious:

So many cool finds. Even the buttons really get my imagination working. Just to think that they were on someone's clothing over 200 years ago.

The 1825 large cent is a super cool find if you ask me. Us poor slobs here in Illinois would die if we found something that old!
