Beautiful weather in Ct, 2 more trips to the park

Unusually nice weather in the Northeast let me get out for a couple of short hunts in the last couple of days. Saturday I found the non-silver earring, 1948 rosie and the lone wheat. Returned today for an hour and got 6 wheaties, 3 were in a spill with a nickel that may be a war nickel, have to clean it first. The last doohickey is what looks like anphoto.JPGphoto.JPGphoto.JPG ornamental plate of some kind I found in this park a few weeks ago. It's marked "sterling" with 2 rivets on back. Any ideas on what it is?

Nice hunting. Getting some silver in Ct in December is fantastic. No idea what your sterling item is but I'm sure some one will.

Congrats on still getting out this late in the season and tagging a few nice finds. Colder weather is a coming though into January. :(

Hmm.. Strange that the sterling stamp is on the front. The piece looks like it was broken near the thinnest part. Wondering if it might be like "wings" on like a police hat.

great hunts for late December Mike , congrats :cheering: your sterling piece reminds me of the late victorian page corner protectors that were common on bibles or other personal type books people had back then . here are a couple of similar ones .

Could be Del. I was thinking maybe a plate off of some old furniture due to those rivets. The piece is very thin and bendable. By the way I looked at your finds album. Real nice stuff. I intend to do more cellar hole hunting in 2015.
