Had to leave the state for my first Seated this year

I went up to Wisconsin yesterday with Noah for a looong day of hunting. Although we got several yesses, the yards we picked were void of good finds. The first two yards had nothing but clad and a few wheats. The third yard gave up a worn 1894 Indian. During the course of the day, I dug a few more wheats, a musket ball (I think), a couple of tokens and a Canadian penny.

On the way home we drove thru the town where I dug a Trime a few years ago. I forgot how many old properties there were in that town. So we picked an 1854 house, The owner said it's been hunted several times before, but go ahead. He was right, another yard with no decent signals, Exept One!! About a half hour into the yard I got a deep scratchy 12-45. when I finally got down to it I saw I had a Barber Dime. Wrong!! I flipped it over and realized I had just dug my first Seated of the year!! An 1882.
What a great way to Finish a rough day of detectig.

This morning I stopped by a friends house and hit his back yard. I dug a 1910 Boy Scout Shoe Token.

Good finds Don. Glad you got a seated coin finally! Now the monkey is off your back and you can start finding all kinds of cool coins. Best wishes and HH, Dave.

Nice score on that seated. At least you managed despite all the places having been hit first. The BSA was founded in 1910. Looks like there is even a variety of these. Yours is a Type 1 variety B2.

Congrats on the Seated Dime, Don! That is a wonderful find! They sure don't turn up often in these parts. I bet that one put a smile on your face! :clapping:

That Boy Scouts token is very interesting too.

:congrats:
