How is the ground where you are at?

The ground here in Mississippi is like concrete. Went MDing a few days ago and had to use a sharpshooter just to break the surface. Havent had any rain in a while. Wasn't long ago I was griping about too much rain. Typical Mississippi weather. And its not even summer yet. Hows the dirt in your area?

its pretty dry up here in northeren ill we get just enough rain to wet the ground but need a good soaking rain to soften it up dennis

It is starting to get hard here in SE Wisconsin. My last couple hunts have been in the water because of the dry soil. I Do not like digging in the hard dry ground of a nice grassy area because of the potential for damage.

We haven't got a lot of rain here in Michigan either. But the ground seems to be hit or miss depending on your location. When its hard like concrete I use the big shovel sometimes there's no way my hand shovel will cut it

Ground is very dry here in Iowa too. I have a few places on hold right now until we can get some rain back in the dirt.

I'm sure the plugs would turn yellow before I even pulled the coin out from under it. :yes: lol

A couple weeks ago here in southeast Texas we had got 5.5 of rain so my detecting was on the high spots only. Now my backyard is covered with cracks. We need rain.....

My Texas soil is like last year at this time...impossible to do a neat plug because of the dryness. Par for the course in Texas. martin
