July 5th Cellar holes. Great finds including an early 1700 unknown coin

Dave and I had mapped out 5 new potential cellar hole sites and decided to start at one that we felt had really good potential. I guess we made the right choice because we ended up spending the entire day at the 1st site. At around 5pm we remembered there was suppose to be another one about a quarter mile away and that's where I got this very intriguing early 1700's coin. It looks like 1706 but I'm not positive. The coin is size of a half penny or exactly 24mm and the VDI reading was low at around 45-50. So I am praying that someone out there can Identify this for me. One side is a bust facing right and the other side has a standing figure that looks like the Mass. standing Indian you see on the state copper.

Got a few other mystery items that I also need help with such as the long decorative brass piece, a flat silver color lead circle with numbers and symbols and two early eagle one piece buttons. One of the back marks shows a small eagle clasping arrows and branch with 5 stars above the head and the other is convex with just stars on the back. The Eagle Infantry Cuff button is from last week, I forgot to post it.
It was a heck of hunt even though I dug into a bumble bee nest and got stung right through my leather glove and into my knuckle :ticked:

nice relics and coins todd.no clue what the copper is.it's one i never seen dug before and about the size of a half cent looks to be 1796 not 1706 .had a blast this hunt,glad it turned out better than last weeks sites i picked

Thanks Al, I think Dave may be right about 1796 and the reverse looks more like a colonial militant soldier the more I look at it

Incredible finds once again, Todd! Here I am still trying to find my first fatty Indian Head after 30 years of detecting, and yours doesn't even get a mention. :lol:

Nice coins and buttons, and I'm glad that your 1796 copper was identified. I'm really curious about that long decorative brass object though. The designs on it are very unusual. Intriguing.

I like the silver thimble too. Makes you wonder who "E.P.C." was.

Total out-of-left field guess: the long brass ornamental thing looks like a scabbard for a dagger or knife with a Central American or North American native design. The thing in the center looks like a native symbol for octopus to me. Like I said, this is a hip shot guess...

i think it may be a squished parasol top.similiar to mine way of on left side.came from the same site
