MANGLED SILVER COLONIAL SPOON UPDATE

I dug this unhallmarked silver spoon at a cellar hole site last month.
the bowl was badly mangled and sent it to a silversmith to have him fix it for $15.
I think he should have or could have done a better job on the back of the bowl but, considering what it looked like before I guess I should be happy

Dave considering what he started with , its a huge improvement my fussy friend . thumbsup01

very nice that is way better, if you are gonnna use as a show piece you probably would only having it face forward anyways still very nice wtg :clapping:

i suppose you guys are right but what if this was an expensive piece of early REVERE? if you were the silversmith fixing this piece ...would you be satisfied sending this back to the customer? I wouldn't. I just think he could have went the extra distance and added some silver solder or whatever he uses and fine tuned it a tad more.
if he got it this good from what it was, then why not complete it? :teasing:

Hey fussy, you paid the guy 15 bucks, lucky you didn't get a plastic spoon in return rofl I think he did a great job. It probably ran him much longer time wise than he wanted to. Plus it leaves some character to the piece. I would be very happy with it. If it were a Revere it would probably cost you hundreds (maybe even thousands) to fix it. Looks great to me. It looks so good you may have to have the rest of your spoons done now lol
