Park This Morning

Started out at dawn...felt great, nice breeze 71, manageable humidity...then for some reason fog rolled in and it turned oppressively humid. I'm not certain why I'm giving a weather report :dontknow:
The copper was at 10in!! I saw a cottontail 5min before I found that cufflink!
That's today's report...I know you were all anticipating my comings and goings

Cool finds! Is the religious guy silver? I don't recognize the largie. Is it a KG1? Glad you were able to get out and make some finds despite the weather. HH, Dave.

It must be nice to enjoy a quick hunt at a local park and find a 250+ year old coin! Still some decent detail on the obverse, is the reverse wiped?

Good finds! Yeah, our midwest weather has been goofy hot and humid too the past several days. Now its dropped to the 60s!

Thank you, guys...The reverse isn't wiped but it's well on its way!

That's pretty cool when you can find oldies way below the newer stuff Drew. I for one appreciate a good weather report, so keep those coming please. I haven't been out detecting since June 21. The gross hot and humid weather has something to do with that, so I admire your hardiness to brave the elements.

I am very fond of those old coppers but the rabbit cufflink (Peter Cottontail ?) is the find of the day.

Thanks Dave, I think it's a William III half penny 1694-1701..but someone will chime in to correct me
I love that little rabbit, Jeff! :) I wish the outside was gold! Thanks!

That rabbit pin is from The Tale of Peter Rabbit, its the same image from the book cover , I'm guessing it could be from the early 1900s.Congrats all around!

LOL...I meant to say Peter Rabbit not Peter Cottontail. I read those Beatrix Potter books to my kids a million times.

Very nice Drew. I remember reading the Peter Rabbit stories often when I was a kid! Congrats on the early copper, especially coming from a town park.

John

OK gotta get outta Illinois. Too amazing for me to fathom finding in a park!! :notworthy: Cuff link is way cool too

Once again you braved the heat and scored....:thumbsup02: Haven't been out for quite awhile cause of the weather.....:girlcry:
