Recent Finds - Sidewalk Tearouts

I have not been out much yet this year due to a massive amount work, plus other duties at home....not to mentioned the crappy weather. But I have stopped off periodically at some local sidewalk construction in the evenings and have gotten on the board with one wheatie and two merc dimes. Now if I could only keep the wheat to silver ratio going all year I'd be in good shape! Also found this cool pottery sherd from the CNW railroad.

Nice digs! That piece of pottery is very cool. I've been trying to keep my eye out for sidewalk tear outs in my area but no luck so far...

Somebody might have to pinch you! If only that ratio was sustainable. But hey! Congrats on two lovely mercs.
(you can get different dates if you want) ;)

Very nice Milco. About a year before I got a metal detector they tore out the old Main street in my town. The road is lined with houses going back into the mid 1700's. Many of them right up close to the street as was the practice back then. Every time I drive by there I imagine all the goodies I could have found if I had just started detecting a year earlier.

Do you get hassled much when detecting the sidewalk reconstructions ?

Jeff
