Sidewalk Project Hunt - 1912 Sen Sen Mechanical Dime Bank

I found this recently at a sidewalk tearout with two wheat cents. This little dime bank was advertising for Sen Sen gum. There is a little slot in the top where you could insert dimes and then a mechanical dial inside that would rotate everytime a dime was inserted, and through a hole in the back the dial would display .10, .20, .30 cents and so on depending on how many dimes were deposited in the bank. Unfortunately, there were no dimes inside!! :crying02:

That is really a neat find, don't think I've ever seen one on the forum before. :perfect10: To bad there were no dimes

That's a really neat find, Darren! I've never seen one before.

They still make Sen Sen, although they no longer call it breath perfume. lol

It's not really a gum, it's more of a hard candy. Little square flakes that kinda taste like black licorice.

Congrats on the cool find! :clapping:

Nice relic Darren. :clapping: Very interesting.
It's fun to find items like this between silvers.

Thanks Tony, kind of like altoids or some other breath mints I suppose in their day.
