Sunday 6/4 - 2 More Coppers!

The Rebel

Met up with Frank for another adventure into the woods. Nabbed 2 more coppers both KGIII's. One is 1778 the other is blank. Have a feeling the blank one is a younger version of him, what say you guys?

Roger the 1778 is actually a Machin Mills contemporary counterfeit (Vlack 12-78B) Vlack-12-78B.jpg , nice find and congrats

Thanks guys! Dan how are you able to tell it's a Machin Mills?

quite easy 1770's are more common with counterfeits than the regal British coppers plus they usually hold up better than the real ones and after a while you can tell by the bust lines or types of faces on the bust , 1787 and 88 dates are usually machin mills as well.

we also have a decent resources pages stickied at the top of the relics forum board that shows a lot of info. congrats again Roger
