Todd smoked me in the finds dept today*shot CT? copper some buttons

Got out to a couple new sites today.they were hit before but they left us some keepers.some buttons,a half of pewter shoe buckle,a cool big brooch or pendent? thought it was a buckle in the hole,a very toasted copper,i couldnt make out anything it was so wiped out so,I decided to put the brass brush to it and pretty sure it's a bust facing left and you can make out the seated lady on reverse.gotta be a CT.Todd got a sweet early military button button war of 1812 script "A" 1st regt and a shoe buckle

Damn..that sux about the copper Dave. Sorry man:crying01:. The cloaker is very nice patina on it and the pewter half buckle is cool, never seen one before

Dan or George any idea what this is or was? notice the squared suspension loopy thingy at the top? or maybe it's the bottom & i have it upside down?

Call it a hunch, but after 35 years of looking at CT coppers I would say it's an 86. It all comes down to the style of the branch hand and the way they leaves are cut.

Pretty cool. My first thought on the thing with the loops was that it was the top part to a purse.

Dave , my first thoughts about this piece are these...

someone put a lot of time brazing each one of them rope designed loops onto that larger oval , even the small loops look to be twisted by hand before they were applied on. so the item overall suggests to me as a piece of jewelry or fancy buckle that doesn't have much functionality but more for looks .
