Virgin park hunt 2

Well, I got back today for a couple hours and used the big 17"coil to try reaching the deeper stuff. Mostly I went over the area I already did with the 11" coil. Sure seemed to make a difference but had a hard time with seperation from the nails.
This time I managed my first 1909 wheatie! No silver, but I also nabbed an 1887 Indian! Very cool, and much older than I expected from this place. Total of 7 old wheats including 35, 17, 27s, 29, and the 09 of course. Also got a button.

Thought there should be an Indian hiding there...and a nice old one too! Yep you need to grid it with your various coils and your various machines. Hope you find more goodies!

Thanks! Now hoping for that elusive seated.
It's not a big place, about the size of a fairly large yard. Still haven't gone over it all since I have to keep it really slow to get between the iron and hot rocks giving me a lot of falsing. Might try later on with the PI machine if I can get the iron dialed out. One oddity is I haven't seen a single nickel there.

Found this also. Pretty sure it's the outer ring to an old 10 amp glass fuse. Has a patent date of 1911.

Once again a nice hunt .I detest large coils but being as this scorching hot weather and the bad air from all the big fires here is supposed to keep me indoors for a few days resting , I may be able to save up enough strength to swing the 15" WOT on the Explorer 2 . Of course this will be the same site I have been hitting for some time now . I look forward to seeing your future hunts on this site you are currently hunting . After this WOT hunt I next plan to hit it with an old Tesoro Diablo 2 Gold machine with a 5x10 Widescan . I expect to dig a lot junk but hopefully I will score a good target or two also .I wish you continued success on your virgin site .

Thanks CT. It's tough with the big coil, but it's the coil that hits deep enough to get the coins here. Maybe if I can get there Saturday before work I'll try the PI machine. Maybe I can eliminate all but the high conductors and hopefully get the depth. I'm a bit out of practice with it, but set up correctly and getting the ears tuned in again it can do amazing things.
