Is that blade about an inch and a half wide?
Thanks Cyber!!!
Okay Will, now that's just plain EVIL! Gloating over others misfortune isn't polite!
wow. Where's Rain Man when you need him? He could have just scanned that pile and told you right off "...um...ah...you have too many buttons..." Couldn't you use some sticky clay behind each button?...
AHHH!!!! A fellow Michigander makin' use of whats on hand!!! Maybe we can do some detecting this spring together!
Thanks again for the help, guys. I can get things knowing that they will be effective for my detector, and not waste my money. Although, spending 60 - 80 dollars on a narrow gardeners shovel seems a...
That's REALLY sweet! I have a bunch of old Mexican coins to practice on. Thanks for the vids, Hook!!!
cool history , amigo! I wish that we Michiganders had more ancient battlegrounds to explore.
I hope to pick one up before I make it out to Ashford, Ct., to visit pops.
That coil is for the (V3I/VX3/MXT/M6/MX5/DFX) machines. So the literature says.
Is this a good 12x10 SEF?

I'm very new to detecting, and I've found some Garrett Master sound headphones for 20 bucks. They look like they're in good shape. Are they decent headphones?
Lets see... The MXT Pro with the Eclipse 9.5 coil will run me $805.00. I'd like to get a pinpointer, and a 6x10DD. Some folks suggested different coils. It isn't an easy thing to figure out!
I'd love to go hunt in Detroit. I worked at the Incinerator just off I-75 and I-94 for 20 years. Its a rough place, but that will keep the softies from finding the good stuff!
I'd like to
1.) Get my 1st machine
2.) Use it in Michigan, Connecticut, Nevada, Tennessee, Virginia, AND Arizona (states with family!)
3.) Meet some new friends along the way
Now THATS just what I was looking for, and I have an Uncle that lives in Jackson County! Wadayaknow!!!!!
I've been looking at all the sweet history from Ct. and Mass., but then I know that the French and Indians traveled all over the Great Lakes region. There HAS to be some great old finds out here in...
What part of the 'ole mitten are you from, Longhair? Maybe we could get together with some others in our beautiful state! Lets look for French Indian War sites!!!
oops...I meant 2'...FEET of snow.
I'm already DELIREOUS!!!!!!! I have 2" of snow in the backyard. I built a seven foot tall snowman in the front yard. I should make him a "detector" and take pics.
Thanks for all the insight, guys!!! This forum is DA BEST!!! You're all REALLY helping me out. This is a bit pricey to dive into, and I wanna be as informed as I can be! I hope to do a hunt with some...
I'm looking at a Whites MXT Pro, and my dealer thinks I'll be happier with the 9.5 Eclipse coil, instead of the new 12" Super coil. I've read that the 10"DD coil is very good, and the 6x10 DD is one...
I was watching Thiltzys vids from the Ct./New England area and it got me so excited that I have to plan a trip to visit my Dad!!! (He lives in Ct., around the Ashford/Mansfield area) There are MILES...
Thanks for the welcomes, guys!!! I'll let you know when I'm planning a trip to Ct. this spring. Maybe I could meet a few of you!!!
I grew up near farms in northern lower Michigan, and every early spring the farmers were always looking for extra help to pick stones that heaved out of the ground every year. The stones would break...
