Hmm, okay Del. Thanks...
Curious...were there not a couple of responses removed after my initial post here?
Just forget it......
There are Fords and there are Chevys...
Ditto on this post....Texas is kind to detectorists.
JMO but there will indeed be a time when the novelty of finding something and looking at it wears off.... And who knows what tomorrow will bring. As you age you will understand even more.
"Friends and life changing experiences gained = $PRICELESS$".... Thiltzy think you nailed it. Would you sell me one of those Washington buttons for $5? I will even pay postage.
Curious... How much have you invested money wise in your pastime?
I think business cards are essential if you are a detectorist. Having the code of ethics is a great idea too although I would think the print would be awful small? I order mine from mpix.
I find it amusing that there are so many choices and that you all have multiple pairs? I know, I am from the old school....
Curious how many of you use a shovel as opposed to a digger (trowel)?
Yes, they are all off limits as far as I know.
its not always about the money there are still some of us with principals Mr. Stout....
Thanks, nice to know where I stand here.....
I think there are lot of people who are being overly critical of this show who would jump at the chance to be in it if the opportunity arose. JMO.
Hey Nicklehead, I am in agreement. Dig Wars leaves a lot to be desired, but it's a notch above the others as of now. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and will watch all the forthcoming...
While I have changed my methods because of age, I think you need to:
1. Determine what it is you are after, and the best way to find it.
2. Learn your detector, it's features, , it's audio...
Can someone please bring me up to date on this situation? Suspect nothing has changed but any info will be appreciated.
Sorry Nickelhead I am sticking with it...
...
Can't believe this post is still alive...?
At this point in time I want a detector with one knob that weighs less than a lb.
I heartily agree Coinut, but then I am much older and maybe just want to go back. My latest post on my blog mentions a few of the oldtimers, but I received only one response so I guess it is indeed...
Just an opinion....if you were burying a cache or hoard of some sort, would you bury it real deep? OR would you place it where you could get to it fast? Just something to think about. Also suspect...
I have found that if you ask hunters they will gladly tell you. The find them when setting up their stands, etc... They get into places we wouldn't.
Rob, love that....you are absolutely right. I have discovered more small towns driving around, and have met some real interesting characters and all pretty helpful.
I experience just the opposite...I have all the time in the world, but face daily temps of 100, and cannot be on my feet for more than an hour at the most (neuropathy). Couldn't wait to retire, and...
