Friday I was able to get back out to a spot I hunted last month where I pulled a LOT of wheats but zero silver. Today, when I dug a couple wheats I happy. When I dug a silver Rosie I was extremely...
There is a loss of depth with smaller DD coils, but it's not near as bad as with concentric coils.
Great video of a great hunt! :perfect10: Just sub'ed. |:cheering:
Interesting idea, but this needs a lot more testing to make it's true more than 50% random chance. See if you can get with some other ring hunters (or maybe a few women with lots of jewelry) and then...
That is the ugliest Merc I have ever seen. Congrats on the cool finds.
That place is really producing for you! Great vid, I would have thought that medal was silver.
I don't see any Rosies or Washingtons in there. You better start digging shallower targets or you'll leave some behind! :grouphug:
Seriously, those are some great finds! Congrats to you!
After being forced to spend WAY to much time away from detecting, I finally got back out to the beach I have been hunting for so long. My return yields another amazing pile of garbage and a nice gold...
The best beach detector is the Minelab Excalibur. As you go deeper under salt water, it loses more and more effectiveness (due to conductive saltwater above the coil). PI detectors are great beach...
That's what pinpointers are for! Angled or on-edge coins pinpoint a ways to the side of thier true location. If you don't have a tool to help locate coins in side of the hole, it's easy to give up on...
Am I having DeJa Vu? I swear I read this very thread months ago (if not last year), but I double checked the dates and they all showed within the last couple days.
I'm freakin out man!
The Corps of Engineers finally re-opened the gates to the lake beaches, so it was time to hit them again! This time I was trying a new to me Excalibur 800 instead of my trusty old White's SM2.

Have you ever been on a golf course? The putting green and fairways have grass so short you couldn't lose a thought in it. You might have some luck in the roughs.
All this would be assuming the...
I was hitting dimes and pennies solid at 6 inches. I'm not sure just how deep it can go. The problem with depth on the E-trac is that you get a completely solid hit down to about 95% of max depth,...
OK, so I finally got the time to get my video together from my last couple hunts last week.
These hunts were my first run with the Sunray X5 coil on my E-Trac. Overall, I was impressed!

Holy smokes! That's probably the best coin spill I've ever seen! :perfect10:
I just watched the video of this find. Congrats on the gold! You sure have some good beaches to hunt up there.
Congrats on the finds. Keep going back! That house is definately much older that those coins!
The wiggle works best for locating good targets next to iron. When you try to pinpoint normally, you can't because the iron just keeps pulling you pinpoint away from the signal location. It's not...
Thanks for the kind words everyone!
I was finally able to get out today for some tecting! The weather kept threatening to dump on me at any moment but it stayed dry.
I was born on a Friday the 13th, so it has always been my lucky...
I also just sent them an email asking for more shows like Lucky Muckers.
Those are far from ugly. I have silver that have been cut, that have been chewed by lawnmowers and are encased in corrosion.
What you found are just everyday silvers!
Where did you order them from? I have a bunch of bent rings that need straightening.
