Just amazing what you guys find in the "old country"! Great hunt for sure, congrats!
Great seeing those new machines waking up old sites again! Only a few years ago 12-16 hours swinging was the norm for me, but now I'm down to maybe 8 hours on a good day before the fatigue really...
That's certainly a museum piece! But, I really question how that old Garrett machine worked being mounted to an aluminum pole by those big metal angle brackets?
Thanks for the info! I have met a few Mormons over the years, and I will say that they were all very nice people from what I experienced, but their religious tenets are a bit....odd? Since I enjoy...
Hello all,
I hope this day finds you well. I'm posting because I've been researching St. George Utah where I am currently interviewing for a new job promotion. This is in the SW corner of the...
I agree genealogy can be addictive, but it's also so very easy to get on the wrong track with one misspelled name or incorrect bit of information. I had done a search once several years ago and there...
OK, so here's the lock info for anyone who is interested. The lock is made by Thirard FTH based in Fressenneville, France. This particular lock was supposedly to commemorate the first flight of the...
Working for someone else, probably not much outside fast food. But you can always become self employed and set your own hours. My plan is to run a videography business. Shooting video for commercials...
Amazing find! What I also find amazing is that you have family history dating back that far in the states, not to mention the continuity of having that bit of land for the entire time. Being that I...
Holy cow, those are the finds dreams are made of! Congrats on an incredible hunt! I don't know which find I would love the most, but believe it or not I think the ring is probably one of the most...
Tony,
First off, congrats on the retirement! Does that come with a new machine? I heard somewhere all newly retired guys are issued a metal detector and a section of beach.
Secondly I...
Hello everyone!
I know it's early in the year yet but with our recent thaw I'm starting to think about spring hunts already. But what I was also thinking about was what I would hope to find this...
Glad to see this post pop back up today. There is one denomination, if it could be considered a separate denomination from the Nickle is the half dime. Would love to see a 1792 half disme in the...
That really looks tasty! Probably a good thing I'm not a baker. I would make sure all 12 rings of that cake were as solidly cemented together as possible just to see the look on the couple's faces!...
Those are some great finds for a new machine. I keep hearing differing opinions about the Manticore, some people hate it and others are figuring it out and loving it. I really like my CTX, so not...
Nice finds and great to see the new machine is performing for you. Can't wait to see what the new year brings one you have it mastered.
Hello and Merry Christmas back at ya! Also have a great new year, and be careful out there on "amateur night"
What a haul! I've never had a coinstar find like that-typically all I see are lots of foreign coins, mostly middle eastern.
Now that's quite a premium! Just imagine the cost, not to mention the political fallout if that was tried today.
Very nice finds-that IH looks like it's really made it's rounds.
Very cool bunch of finds! I've always been intrigued by "secret societies", although very few were actually very secret! Here's an entry I found online regarding this society. Essentially, it...
That's one sweet find, congrats!
Fantastic finds for sure! Lady liberty on that capped bust sure looks a bit peeved! Aside from her expression, all 3 of those finds are in amazing condition. Congrats!
Both are great finds, and something most people will never see under their coils (except for you East coasters!) Congrats on a fine hunt!
Very interesting! I doubt this would have been for ashes to gather as that would have been quite the fire hazard. But for storage of items they didn't want damp or frozen, I think it would be ideal.
