Thanx.
I'll give them a try.
Any info you'd care to share would be greatly appreciated. You can PM me if you like.
I'm wintering in Phoenix for 2-3 months.
I'm looking for someone that would be interested in doing some detecting.
I would like to thank White's for their great customer service!
I had a 4x6 coil for my V3i that went out of tune and was overloading.
I returned the coil which was actually out of warranty by a...
Thanx for your help!
You have clarified what was not so clear in their manual.
Good explanation
No CTX 30303 users that understand their detector?
I am confused about the ground balance option.
Am I understanding the manual correctly .....leaving the GB enable option UNCHECKED is what is considered auto ground balance and should be used for...
I have read that bluetooth headphones have too much delay to work well.
I have a set of TDK headphones (WR700 I think) that use a different technology and work good.
It fooled me too as I almost threw it out. It just looked like some cheap kids jewelry from walmart.
I can't recall what the VDI was when I found it, cause it should have tipped me off back then....
The goldsmith confirmed that the medallion was 10k gold and weighed 10 gr.
I still have no idea what it represents but maybe google will spit out some ideas.???
It would be close. Most LCR meters are within about 5% on inductance. I'm not sure off hand what the specs are for my meter but I suspect they would be a little better than that.
I do electronics repair in my spare time....I mostly repair vintage musical equipment for musicians. I repair the equipment of many many bands. I'm also of the era where I can understand and repair...
Yes all my coils are V rated.
I took the medallion to the goldsmith and he was pretty sure it is gold...about 10 grams.
He is going to do the acid test but was busy and he'll let me know today.
He thinks it was an amateur...
I'm gonna take it to a goldsmith to have it checked out.
I do not think it is gold but one never knows????
I was thinking some sort of gold alloy, closer to white gold.
And then again it may be...
I don't think so as the chain was fairly small
Found this on the beach last summer and almost threw it out.
My wife was going through my old finds and said it feels heavy.
I double checked on my V3I and it says gold??? 34 VDI and the analyze...
Because I'm an electronics tech with a curious mind I had to do a little investigating with my coils. This is what I've found.
The Rx portion of the coils is on pins 1&2.
The TX portion is pins...
Be very careful removing the circuit board. You will beak off the on/off switch if it is not depressed when you remove or insert the cct brd. Then you'll send it along with about $$ to get repaired

I sure like my 6x10. Lighter than the 10DD and a little more precise. Depth might be a little less, but I still have found alot of great...
I'd also recommend the 6x10 if you want to get another coil. Nice and light and probably the coil I tend to use most often these days.

Thanx. I'll give it a try
The battery packs crack and need to be replaced occasionally. The coil wire sounds like it may be a loose connection or a little oxidation on the metal terminals.
Try removing the connector and re...
I have the GTI 2500 but don't use it much anymore. It is an awesome detector in the all metal mode and is my detector of choice if I need to go real deep or looking for gold chains.
Depending on the type of rechargeable battery, the voltages will be different.
A ni cad is only 1.2 volts per battery, whereas a non rechargeable alkaline is 1.55 volts when new.
Some detectors...
