On one of the sites I hunt I dig every signal. I have dug a french trade ax and cut up musket barrels among other stuff. But, I only dig iron at that site.
I can only dream of finding those relics down here. Thanks for sharing.
That is dedication to the hobby. I switched to the Deus 1 about 7 or 8 years ago because I couldn't swing my DFX for more than 3 or 4 hours. Now, I am lucky if my legs and back hold out for a 3 hour...
When I retired from the Fire Department in 2005 I went to work with my best friend doing trim carpentry for a high end builder. When my friend had to retire due to health issues the builder offered...
Dang nice last hunt. I hope your 2024 season is even better than 2023.
I won't throw them away! When I die my wife will have a big yard sale to get rid of all my "junk"! ;)
Great finds. Great friendships are even better.
Dang! Can I come play with you?
I have had as much luck at the Coin Star as I have had detecting this year!
I took a shirt back to Walmart today and passed the Coin Star on the way, but it was empty. After returning the shirt, my wife and I did a little shopping. On the way out we passed the same Coin Star...

Looks like you had a good hunt.

Is it brass, lead or pewter? What does the back look like? Do I see a small anchor on the shield? It could be an Official and Diplomatic Service button, but if there is an anchor on the shield it...
Wow!
Dang, that is a nice dime and penny. What is the button on the right?
Man, I sometimes wish I lived back up north again just so I could have the chance to find relics like this. But, then I would have to put up with winter and that's a deal breaker for this old man!...
Nice finds. I also like the buttons.
Very nice. Congratulations on a great find.
Very nice.
That is a great find. Can you post a group picture of them?
I wist it was a valuable coin. According to some knowledgeable people on a Facebook group there are a handful of this variety known and it has a value between $75-&100. If it didn't have the hole it...
I was going through some more of my brother's stuff and found a coin I could not identify. Turns out it is a counterfeit 5 dollar gold piece. It is struck on a silver planchet and is as old as it...
