Ingraving Plate:huh:

Hi all,
Found this a few weeks ago at an semi-old house site (around early 1900's). It's fairly heavy, maybe cast, and all word are back wards like it was used for a printing press. Got a mirror and wrote down what I say, and the title could of matched up to an 1949 childrens book called 'Those Dreadful Children. If so, what is this thing for?? Any body know

pretty cool item it could of been use for printing the old hard cover books .

That's cool Dan. Would it have been for the front cover, or for the whole story?

measure up the dimensions of the plate . it could of been just one plate of hundereds that was used to print a particular page in those old hard cover story books . i seem to recall seeing them when i was very young and a lot of them had nice artistic pictures on every other page with the text printed on that thick white manila paper.
