    Any Dog Tag SME's ??

    Hello all!

I recovered this Dog Tag in RI today... I started a quick search... I see the notches were to allow for transfer of information to medical records via the Model 70 Addressagraph... These noted style was used in WWII, Koreaand early Viet Nam...

Most of those had more information... Blood type... Year of Tetsnus shot... and can contain gas mask size...

    I also see that #'s starting with 1 - Regular Army, 20 - National Guard, 3 - Draftee, O - Officer, and Ra - Regular Army...

So... Is this a WWII Draftee Dog Tag ??

Very interesting! As to the next of kin info, you may be correct as I don't remember any of that info on my Viet Nam Era tags.

I checked on this and it appears to be a early Vietnam dog tag. WWII tags generally had a lot more information on them than appears on this one. In any case it is still a very interesting find.
