    The Eagle has Landed (almost)

I receivedd an email from the restorer, Leonard Short. He informed me that the eagle hat plate was complete and he emailed me some pictures. These new photos were taken in natural sunlight. The end result is fantastic, I am thrilled with the outcome and glad that I decided to have it restored.
I should have it in my possession in about a week. Once I have it, I will have it appraised and then send in to WE&T for a Best Finds submission.

This was originally recovered on Aug 22nd and posted that day.

I have attached the before photos again.

Hi Al: I haven't posted or even been here the past couple months, but seeing your find made me have to post. Its beautiful! Does the guy that restored it do buttons? I found a Massachusetts Artillery button in pretty good shape. I'm afraid to do anything to it. I must have missed your post when you found it. Congrats.
