I got out for a little swing time tonight. I headed to an oddball spot that I had only hunted a few times before, with really dismall results other than 3 wheat pennies. But those wheats had me wondering, and something in my head made me want to check it out one more time. The Sov was cranky at this spot, breaking on good signals and otherwise not cooperating. But I was nevertheless rewarded with a sweet sterling girl scout ring, and 1953 Rosie, and the most oddly corroded wheat I've seen. I've had such an itch for a silver coin lately that just that plain old Rosie made my night; and the ring is pretty sweet for me as I had found a similar one in the past - also a girl scout ring and also an open silver ring. As always, it was great to get out. I look forward to more hunting at this spot as I only scratched the surface tonight.
This website - http://www.vintagegirlscout.com/jewring.htm - dates the ring from 1962 - 1974. Neat!
Happy hunting!
