    Here is some more information to add that might be helpful to those looking for values.

    Old Pennies
    VDB pennies $10 to $15
    1909-S VDB pennies $800 to $1,200
    Indian head pennies (most dates in typical worn grades) $2 to $10

    Buffalo Nickels

    Dateless Buffalo nickels 10 to 50 cents
    Buffalo nickels with a date (most years in typical worn grades) $1 to $10

    Mercury Dimes
    Mercury dimes (most dates in typical worn grades) $2 to $5

    Roosevelt Dimes

    Silver Roosevelt dime (made before 1965 in worn grades) $1 to $2

    Washington Quarters & 50 States Quarters

    All Washington quarters made before 1965 contain silver and are worth at least their weight in silver.
    Silver Washington quarter (most dates, typical wear) $3 to $5

    Half Dollars

    Franklin half dollars (most dates, typical wear) $7 to $10
    Kennedy Half Dollars
    Kennedy half dollar (1964) $7 to $10
    Kennedy half dollar (1965 to 1970) $3 to $5

    Silver Dollars
    United States silver dollars date back to 1794. Easily said, any that you have from the 1790s to the early 1800s (that are real) are worth around $800 to 1,000 and up.
    Authentic silver dollars made from the 1840s through the 1870s are worth at least $100 and up in worn grades.

    Also a good idea to look through your Canadian cents for a 1936 dot cent. These were minted in 1937 with 1936 dies and a dot was added to differentiate between them and actual 1937 cents. 2010 sale went for $402,500. Not a bad penny to dig up, huh!

    Anyone wanting to either make an investment for the future or maybe search for some old silver coins in more decent shape than supposedly labeled in the bags or possible key dates and mint marks can check out websites to buy old worn silver coins for their silver content value in bulk bags. You can find sites like www.apmex.com that are selling $100 $500 and $1000 face value bags of a range of different silver coins. Just a thought on the subject since it is some what similar to the other posts with values and such of coins. Personally I like to detect the coins and dig them though...
