    2012 - First year with a Minelab

Hi everyone, Ron here. I am retired, and an avid walleye fisherman, pheasant hunter, ginseng hunter, hornets nest hunter and grandpa.

Been detecting a long time. I used a different brand for many years and finally bought the Minelab Etrac in December 2011. With the help of Joe, it has been fun using my new machine in 2012. Never, ever have I had a silver coin count year like this. Nearly all of the following came from parks and churches in my area that I gave up on with my old machines.

    The big stuff -

    Seated coins -

My Barbers, Merc and Shield nickel -

    Common Mercs -

    and Rosies -

Plus silver rings, medals and stuff (shot 1853 Seated quarter and Two Cent piece)

Before this year, my best seasons were 10-30 silver coins mostly hunting private properties.

An exciting year hunting with jkress along with a lot of rewarding time searching solo.

131 silver coins, a bunch of wheat cents and IH's along with some nice relics.

A big thank you to everyone here for the incentive to get out there with my Etrac.

p.s. Joe tells me he might take my Minelab battery packs away for 2013. lol

Congratulations on the HUGE pile of silver buddy!!
You dug a bunch of real beauties this year. It was very enjoyable hunting with you, I had a great time.

It was fun watching you experience your first Minelab year. However, I am sorry to say you must go back to your old machine now!

What an amazing year you had, Ron!

    Fantastic finds and great photos!

2012 was also my first full year with a Minelab. It's funny to see how similar my results were to yours, especially in the silver department.

Be sure to keep an extra battery pack handy just in case yours accidentally comes up missing.

Congrats on your finds. I experienced the same as you did in the last year with a new eTrac. More silver than any year before. HH in 2013!
