    Group hunt with American Detectorist crew*got me a great looking copper*

    It doesn't get any better than today! I had the privilege of hunting with some of the AmericanDetectorist.com posters in the likes of del, HEAVYMETALNUT, Sniffy and Kray. So much fun hunting with such great company, the weather was great with temps in the low 60's, the day was perfect, and my beautiful copper was the cherry on top.

    I scored the Matron Head early in the day, a 1859 Indian that I thought was originally a Flying eagle cent at the end of the day and a handful of buttons and relics in between.

    I really want to thank Dan(del) for putting this together and taking us to his sites. It was a blast

    gorgeous day and LC! did you clean it?: or just dry brushed it? looks like a piece of the one star came off.i'd maybe just put a little oil like dan said on it and leave it be. hopefully he'll give you his thoughts.beautiful shape!

    No Dave I didn't clean it. The copper is Jekyl and Hyde as the reverse is no where near as detailed as the obverse so i am not sure which method I am going to use now.

    thats a bummer about the reverse :-\ the obverse was facing down and was protected nicely .post a photo of the back so Dan can advise you how to go about it

    I wonder what that long object is at the bottom of your group photo? It looks like it would telescope. Pretty cool whatever it is.

    well Todd , you had the find of the day until ol'Davey did the hey Rocky watch me pull a silver plated shoe buckle out of my @%$!! bit. lol lol but the copper is a beauty my friend and it was a blast detecting with you ,Jesse , Dave and Ray . we'll have to do it real soon .
