    New To American Detectorist

Hi, I'm new to the forum, last year was my first detecting. I'm using a Bounty Hunter IV. Is there a decent pointer out there for less than $100.00?

Hey Cire58, welcome aboard. Congrats on surviving your first year detecting. To get a good pinpointer for under 100 bucks, try and find someone that is selling a used one. I picked up a Pistol Probe for 75 bucks. You may be able to do the same for the Garrett probe. Or you can just hunt clad everyday and save up for a new one. lol

Hello, I think you'll like it here. I just got back into detecting last year too. Lots of experienced folks here with a ton of knowledge. Where are you from?

Hey Cire58, and welcome to the group. When its all said and done, I would save a few more bucks and get a Pro Pointer. I've had one for a couple of years now, and have been real happy with it

Certainly not worth $99... more like $9.99.

Check Harbor Freight on-line. They have a one for $17 that might get you started. (Pic below)

As Mudder said, save a little more and pick up a pro-pointer for about $150.
