You folks ever use a toothbrush on silver coins? I use one on my fillings everyday to no apparent effect.
I've only used the tin foil stuff....never brushing my coins....but should I? Maybe floss the edges? lol

I clean all my found silver and older coins with a toothbrush. Maybe when I find a 1916d Merc or some other such noteworthy coin I won't, but so far that hasn't been and issue. lol

I use a toothbrush on all the coins with no effect. On the tarnished one's I use baking soda, mixed with water into a paste and use that the take the tarnish off.....only on common dates! It does not harm the coins. I also use that on the silver I eat off of, because unlike silver cleaners it's non-toxic...and cheap like me!
