    Colonial House Today

Steve and I got out for our weekend hunt and checked on a house we had our eye on. We came up the path and met he home owner as she was doing some gardening. We introduced ourselves and asked her permission to hunt the property. She gave us the o.k. and we went to work, the house was built in 1726. Got a '50 Washington and what I think is a 1786 Connecticut copper.

Great job getting that Conn Copper thumbsup01 With a good close up and a bit more dirt removed, Dan may be able to ID the exact variety. Some of them are really rare. Congrats on a nice colonial copper

You have some nice detail on that CT. They are usually dateless (at least mine), but they only made 'em for four years. Nice job!

Thanks, I never had luck soaking coins, I find if I gently use a toothpick at an angle to take the surface dirt off, then hand rub it does minimal damage to the coin.

    | Definitely nice find. The Front side looks real nice I can see the denticles . I'm sure a little more cleaning should do the trick . At least it wasn't a 1787, that would be a chore finding out the Variety. 141 Varieties must be a Record for that year. Anyone know which Coin has the most Varieties ? ( U.S Coins ).
