    Latin mottoe for :

    Union College
    Barbourville, KY
    Pro Deo Et Homine = For God and For the Human Race

    Maybe a pin worn by clergy Looks like it saw the bad end of a lawn mower.
    Oldest find: 5,000 year old copper spearhead
    Oldest coin: 1699 William III halfpenny
    Purdiest coin: 1832 Capped Bust quarter
    Coolest find: USA button with blue threads still on shank

    Second thought, it looks too big to be worn as a pin.

    Maybe it was mounted to the license plate on a car to let people know that the driver was allowed to park in a reserved space.
    My wife does all the driving, I just hold the steering wheel!

    That is not a bad guess I believe here in MA we had a similar one attached to the front license plate around the 60's / 70's.
