A lot of coppers....copper clad bullets that is

Hit the woods with Coinsniffer looking for a cellar hole we suspected was there. Never did find it. Found a well near some stock pens but it wasn't associated with a cellar hole. Found a knife scabbard tip....don't believe it is very old though.

Kept digging copper clad bullets. Some you could tell from the shape when pin pointing that it wasn't a coin but some sounded pretty good.....all had to be dug. I haven't dug an old copper in a few hunts so it was frustrating to keep digging clad bullets. My buddy dug just as many. Turns out there is a rifle range about 1.5 miles away. That whole hill side must be littered with lead. Kind of scary how far lead can fly. stretcher:

Also dug what turned out to be a lady's hat pin.

Gorgeous hat pin. The ones we found generally dated from around 1890's - 1910's. That one item was worth the hunt. Those bullets sure do look lethal

That type of bullet reads very high and consistent on my machine. You have to dig 'em. Sweet pin. |

Thanks folks. I was guessing late 1800's on the hat pin. Was happy to see it come out of the ground in one piece. The stone is just colored glass.

The Sniffmeister Jarrod is doing well Dan. We had a bunch of great hunts last fall/winter. Hopefully we'll get into a similar groove soon. I will get after him to visit and start posting.
