I head out on a short hunt today. Headed out to a rock walled penned in area. After about a half hour I get a jumpy signal on the F75, 73, 71,79, 84, numbers leveled out after about 7 swipes at about 80. I dig the hole and boom out comes the first KG2, I almost did leaf angels I was so excited my first large copper.
I headed back to my truck to drop the coin off I left my machine and equipment on site with the hole open. Dropped the coin on my dash to dry and headed back out. I get back check the hole again and wham, a note KG2. I yelled "COPPERS"!
These are my first 2 coppers only one had a date that is readable as you can see it's a 1740.
Thinking back over the last 15 months it blows my mind that I have found coins that date 400 years of US history. Mind boggling.

Now a few pics:

Kind of a crazy question but is this a farthing?
