    Just joined!

Hello I'm new here but not to metal detecting! Been detecting for years in So. Cal. until I moved home to AR. Been out a lot over the years when I was home, spent 8 years on the road all over the world training US service members and some DOS work. Been home since Sept. and getting out a bit. Have found tons of coins over the years, but here in AR. seems no one had any money to loose, but me & the wife are still out looking!

Welcome to the forum Otis. It's good to have another SW Arkie join us. I agree with your comment concerning the lack of coins to be found in the ground in this area. If you're a collector of used rifle and corroded shotgun shells you're going to have a special time hunting in this area. Looking forward to seeing your future posts of your finds.

I swung a Tesoro Eldorado for years and went to a Bounty Hunter Silver Sabre until the thing started going off and swinging a detector in the off position for a bit. Then I realized it and turn it back on. One day working in Fort Campbell KY. I saw and ad for metal detectors in the morning paper and bought a Euro Pro. I love it it works like the best detector I've ever used and simple. I dig everything anyway that's how I found all my silver and my 1881 $5 gold piece in Poway, Ca. So using a machine with the numerical designation identification system is teaching new tricks. I could always spend more money on a more expensive machine I just don't think it would do a whole lot more! I'm am hunting old sites with just a few more deeper coins. I have found my first two tokens in the same yard one from 1910's era & one from '26-'28 era! I never would have dug them before!
